Barcelona were reportedly unconvinced about signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Karim Adayemi in this summer's transfer window.

Barcelona were reportedly unconvinced about signing Liverpool target Karim Adeyemi in this summer's transfer window.

For the last two years, the Catalan club have admired the 19-year-old, who is currently with Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca have reservations about approaching Adeyemi, as they are unsure as to whether he can reach his potential at the highest level.

The report also states that any potential deal would be a complicated one, as Liverpool are considering bringing the German to Anfield in January.

Jurgen Klopp will be without attackers Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane at the beginning of next year, with the pair due to represent Egypt and Senegal respectively at the African Cup of Nations, so the Reds head coach will need to find a solution to the duo's absence.

Adeyemi has made a bright start to the season at Salzburg, scoring six goals in his first seven league matches, as well as finding the net in their Champions League qualifier against Brondby last month.
