Manchester United outcast Bastian Schweinsteiger returns to first-team training

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger appears to return to first-team training after two months in exile.

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger appears to have been welcomed back into the first team after two months in exile.

It seemed as though the German World Cup winner no longer had a future at Old Trafford when manager Jose Mourinho booted him out of the squad following the Portuguese coach's appointment as Louis van Gaal's successor in the summer.

Recently it was reported that the 32-year-old, who opted against leaving the club in the summer, had been banned from playing with the reserve team.

However, pictures posted on United's official Twitter page appear to show Schweinsteiger taking part in training with the rest of the first-team players ahead of Thursday's Europa League match against Fenerbahce in Turkey.

Injury hampered Schweinsteiger's first season at United following his £6.5m switch from Bayern Munich last year, and despite being dropped from the first-team squad in the summer, the midfielder has continued to support the team on social media.

It is believed that AC Milan are planning to make a move for the former Germany international when the transfer window reopens in January.
