Scottish League One roundup: Rangers beat Dunfermline

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's Scottish League One action.

Rangers eased to yet another victory as they beat Dunfermline Athletic 2-0 in the Scottish League One on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Steven Smith and Callum Gallagher were enough for Rangers, who were given a guard of honour before the game to mark the sealing of the league title last week.

Stenhousemuir beat Brechen City 4-2 in arguably the division's game of the day.

The hosts raced into a two-goal lead through Darren Smith and Sean Dickson, before Alan Trouten pulled one back for the visitors.

Josh Watt restored the advantage in the second half, before Trouten added his second from the penalty spot with 20 minutes remaining.

John Gemmell scored on 75 minutes, and it was enough to give Stenhousemuir the points.

Meanwhile, Ayr United hammered East Fife 5-0. Michael Moffat scored twice in quick succession towards the end of the first half, before Kevin Kyle added a third in stoppage time.

Michael Donald netted six minutes after the restart and Alan Forrest scored in added time late on.

Dale Hilson's goal was enough for Forfar Athletic as they beat Stranraer 1-0, while Airdrieonians beat Arbroath by the same score thanks to James Lister's strike.

Results in full: Rangers 2-0 Dunfermline, Arbroath 0-1 Airdrieonians, East Fife 0-5 Ayr, Forfar 1-0 Stranraer, Stenhousemuir 4-2 Brechin
