Mauricio Pochettino promises more goals

Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino is confident that his side will find their goalscoring touch, having scored just three so far this season.

Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino is confident that his side will find their scoring touch soon.

The Saints have only scored three times this season, but are in seventh place having only lost once.

Their manager insisted that he is pleased with the performances and thinks the goals will soon follow.

"My philosophy is always to score," Pochettino told the club's official website. "The more goals the better.

"However, at the beginning of the season, it's very important to have a solid start and actually get wins. If they come as 1-0 victories, the so be it.

"I'm confident that we have the necessary quality up front to score more goals in the future."

Southampton's next game is against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
