Cesc Fabregas earns a place in the Spain starting lineup for this evening's Euro 2012 final against Italy.

Cesc Fabregas has been recalled to the Spain starting lineup for tonight's Euro 2012 final against Italy.

The Barcelona midfielder has taken the place of Alvaro Negredo, who has dropped down to the bench.

Fabregas is now expected to take up an advanced attacking role, while David Silva and Andres Iniesta offer support from deep.

For Italy, Ignazio Abate has recovered from a muscular injury to take the place of Federico Balzaretti at full-back, while Mario Balotelli will continue to partner Antonio Cassano up front.

Spain: Casillas; Arbeloa, Pique, Ramos, Alba; Busquets, Xavi, Xabi Alonso, Iniesta, Silva; Fabregas
