Report: West Bromwich Albion begin talks with Tony Pulis

West Bromwich Albion reportedly begin talks with Tony Pulis about becoming Alan Irvine's successor.

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly opened talks with Tony Pulis regarding their managerial vacancy.

The Baggies are believed to have identified Pulis as their number one target after sacking Alan Irvine on Monday evening.

With Pulis's track record of helping struggling clubs, the former Crystal Palace boss has been formally approached with West Brom languishing just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League table.

According to Sky Sports News, discussions have begun between the two parties, and Pulis has made it clear that he wants full control over transfers.

The 56-year-old's decision to leave Palace just days before the start of the season is believed to have been down to a fallout with co-chairman Steve Parish.

Reports have claimed that West Brom expect to appoint a new manager by the weekend.
