Salford City Reds have formally announced the addition of Sean Long to the club’s coaching staff.
The 34-year-old former scrum-half confirmed his retirement from the game earlier this month after a two-year spell with Hull FC.
Head Coach Matt Parish has been re-organising his backroom staff throughout the summer to make room for Long and has revealed that he is delighted to see the former Great Britain captain arrive at the City of Salford Community Stadium.
"Sean is a winner and he will bring that winning mentality to the club. We are fortunate to have been able to attract him,” Parish told the club’s official website.
“I have met him several times and his knowledge of the game is immense. I have enjoyed talking footy with him and look forward to him joining our team."
Long scored four tries during a nine-year Great Britain international career.
