Fabrizio Ravanelli disappointed after Ajaccio cup exit

Fabrizio Ravanelli says that Ajaccio didn't deserve to be knocked out of the Couple de la Ligue by a "never dangerous" Bastia.

Fabrizio Ravanelli feels that his Ajaccio side didn't deserve to be eliminated from the Coupe de la Ligue on Tuesday as conquerors Bastia were "never dangerous".

L'ours came out on the wrong end of a Corsican derby after Ilan Araujo gave Les Bleus a 1-0 win in the third round of the competition at the Stade Armand Cesari.

"We conceded a goal from their only shot on target," Ravanelli told the press. "We had two or three great chances that we failed to put in the net.

"I'm happy with the performance of my players. Bastia were never dangerous. I am especially disappointed for my players who have played a great game.

"It will take the continued will to fight to prepare for Saturday's match against Valenciennes in the league, which is very important for us."

Ajaccio host Valenciennes on Saturday in Ligue 1.
