Per Mertesacker "relaxed" ahead of Borussia Dortmund clash

Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker insists that the Gunners are confident of earning a positive result against Borussia Dortmund tomorrow night.

Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has declared that his side can travel to Borussia Dortmund full of confidence ahead of tomorrow night's crucial Champions League clash.

The Gunners were beaten on home soil by the German giants two weeks ago, but head to Dortmund five points clear in the Premier League following a 2-0 win over Liverpool.

Mertesacker has conceded that Arsenal need a positive result in Germany to keep qualification from Group F in their own hands, something that he feels is a realistic target for his side.

He told the Daily Star: "It is difficult to play Dortmund, especially away from home, but we have to keep our confidence.

"We are on a high level. We are top of the league. We try to gain confidence and we need to get a good result over there.

"But we are relaxed. We did show already in the Premier League that we are one of the best teams. It is a little bit different in the Champions League, though, and we need a result there to stay [in line for qualification]."

Dortmund also enter the clash in high spirits after securing their biggest win of the season last Friday, with Robert Lewandowski scoring a hat-trick in a 6-1 success over Stuttgart.
