Wojciech Szczesny believes that Poland are capable of surprising a few people at Euro 2012 this summer.

Poland goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has tipped his nation to make an impact at Euro 2012 this summer.

As a result of their status as co-hosts, the Poles were not required to qualify for the competition.

Despite having the weight of expectation on their shoulders, Arsenal keeper Szczesny believes that there is enough talent in the Polish squad for his side to make a telling impact.

"It's all there for us to go and have a successful tournament - I think it's the strongest Poland team the fans have seen for years so hopefully we won't let them down," he told the club's official website.

"I think Poland have a chance of doing well. The atmosphere around the national team has changed a bit and people have realised that we actually have world-class players."

The 22-year-old made his senior international debut in 2009.
