Arsenal have reportedly entered into negotiations with Olympiacos defender Kostas Manolas over a possible summer transfer.
Reports on Monday suggested that Arsene Wenger had renewed his interest in the 23-year-old as he looks to add more options to his squad ahead of the beginning of the Premier League season on Saturday.
According to Goal.com, the Gunners boss could be persuaded to pay the £8m asking price to make sure the deal is completed as soon as possible.
There is a gap in the Arsenal defence following the recent sale of Thomas Vermaelen to Barcelona, while Laurent Koscienly is believed to be struggling to reach full fitness after injuring his Achilles in Sunday's Community Shield.
Manolas is also rumoured to be attracting interest from Napoli.
