Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain excited by new signings

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain admits that Arsenal are excited ahead of the new season following the signings of Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy, David Ospina and Calum Chambers.

Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has revealed that their new signings have created an 'exciting' atmosphere at the club.

The Gunners have signed Alexis Sanchez, David Ospina, Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers this summer, spending over £50m to land the quartet, and the England international feels that the arrivals will provide the squad with healthy competition.

He told the club's official website: "I think you could see out there the boys were excited to get going, we know there's a lot of exciting players around the squad this year.

"With the likes of Alexis coming in with Debuchy and Chambers - we've got an extra spring in our step. There's competition for places and everyone wants to make an impression on the boss."

Arsene Wenger's side defeated Benfica 5-1 in their pre-season clash thanks to four goals from striker Yaya Sanogo.
