Gerardo Martino "full of pride" in Barcelona performance

Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino describes himself as "full of pride" after his side come back to earn a 1-1 draw with Atletico in their Champions League quarter-final first leg.

Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino was delighted with the way that they fought back to earn a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in their Champions League quarter-final first leg at the Vicente Calderon Stadium.

Atletico's 32-goal top scorer Diego Costa was forced off injured in the first-half, but his replacement Diego Ribas gave the hosts a 57th-minute lead.

However, Barca would reply to score a crucial away goal through Neymar, and Martino feels that, after conceding, his side produced some of their best football to put the tie "in the balance."

He told UEFA's official website: "I am full of pride in the way in which we played. If we continue like this, there are chances for success. Our intention in every game is to go out and win, so we will have to go [in the second leg] and do what we always try to do.

"After [the opening] goal you saw the best of Barcelona. In the second half we moved the ball about well and played with depth. There were also good moves in the final third and several shots. We played as a team and added a lot of intensity.

"The tie is finely balanced. I do not know if the factor of playing at home second counts for anything, but like I said, everything is evenly balanced."

Atletico are currently one point above Barcelona in the La Liga table.
