Barnsley boss David Flitcroft has admitted that he did not apply to manage the Championship club on a full-time basis.
The 38-year-old, who was appointed as the Tykes' new manager after guiding his side to a 2-0 victory over Leeds United, says that it wasn't his intention to remain in the Oakwell hotseat permanently.
Flitcroft told reporters: "I never really put in for the job.
"The job sort of found me for whatever circumstances and I'm just happy to be manager, working with this group of players and I'm absolutely delighted to have got this opportunity."
Barnsley are currently in 23rd place in the Championship table.
