Sami Hyypia: "A draw is a fair result"

Bayer Leverkusen coach Sami Hyypia feels that his side's 0-0 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk was a "fair result".

Bayer Leverkusen coach Sami Hyypia said that their goalless draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Tuesday evening was a "fair result".

The former Liverpool defender felt that a point each was deserved after an uneventful game at Donbass Arena.

"We fought well in the game, but alongside a good goalkeeping performance we also got lucky a few times," Hyypia is quoted as saying on UEFA.com.

"On the other hand, we could have scored a goal ourselves, but a draw is a fair result in the end.

"We struggled to keep possession in the final third in the first half, which meant we had to defend for the most part. In the second half we offered an improved display and created chances of our own."

The draw keeps Leverkusen in second in Group A on seven points, while the Ukrainian side are third with five points.
