The agent and father of Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld has suggested that Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen are leading the race to sign his client.
Alderweireld has reportedly been attracting Premier League interest but, according to Vic Alderweireld, his son is close to a move to Bayer.
"Bayer Leverkusen is the club who we are the furthest with in our discussions," Vic Alderweireld told Gazet van Antwerpen. "We will quickly meet the club again."
The 24-year-old has received 24 caps for Belgium.
