Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe wary of further additions

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe reveals that he is keen to further strengthen his squad this summer, but will only do so if the right players are available.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has admitted that he is keen to return to the transfer market but will only do so if the right player becomes available.

The signings of Junior Stanislas, Callum Wilson and Dan Gosling this summer have helped the Cherries become the early Championship leaders this season.

Howe would like to make another "one or two additions" to his squad, but has stressed that any further acquisitions will be thoroughly considered and not bought on a whim.

He told the Bournemouth Echo: "We are keen to do something. I don't overreact to wins or losses. You try to have a plan and a long-term plan and stick to it.

"We evaluate the squad all the time and are looking at one or two additions. But, as I have said before, there are no guarantees. You only want to get the right players, ones you think potentially will make you better and strengthen your squad.

"We certainly won't do anything we feel rushed into and will take each individual player on their own merits. We would like to but we will have to wait and see. There are a lot of things that have to fall into place, it is not just our wants."

Bournemouth have been linked with a move for versatile Norwich City midfielder Andrew Surman, who made 39 appearances during a loan spell at Dean Court last season.
