Brighton & Hove Albion sign Joe Ward from Chelmsford City

Brighton & Hove Albion add young prospect Joe Ward to their development squad for an undisclosed fee from Chelmsford City.

Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of young prospect Joe Ward from Chelmsford City for an undisclosed fee.

The 19-year-old winger has signed a development contract with the Seagulls after impressing in two games on trial.

"I feel that I can bring pace to the team, as I believe I'm very quick and am good crosser of the ball," Ward told the club website. "When I get the ball I look to drive, drop forward with it and create something."

Ward scored 10 goals in 44 appearances for Conference South outfit Chelmsford last season.
