UEFA wants Champions League 'final four' in Istanbul?

UEFA is allegedly considering whether to hold 'final four' tournaments to bring an efficient conclusion to the Champions League and Europa League.

UEFA is allegedly giving consideration to making changes to the current format of the Champions League and Europa League.

As a result of the coronavirus outbreak, the governing body has suspended its two premier competitions for the foreseeable future.

While meetings are due to take place early next week, AS claims that a proposal will be put forward regarding the amendment to both tournaments.

The report claims that UEFA will ask its members whether they will agree to holding the semi-finals and final at one venue, each played over one game.

The Champions League showpiece is due to be held in Istanbul, with the Europa League equivalent being staged in Gdansk.

A vote is expected to be held in the coming days.
