Antonio Conte reportedly faces a difficult challenge to convince Inter Milan officials to finance a move for Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante.
Despite Inter sitting in second position in the Serie A table, Conte is expected to make more changes to his first-team squad during the next transfer window.
That could allegedly lead to an approach being made for Kante, who helped Conte win the Premier League title with Chelsea during 2016-17.
However, according to Sport Mediaset, club officials may not be prepared to pay Kante's wage demands, as well as a transfer fee in the region of £60m.
Although the report suggests that Kante is open to taking on a new challenge, such a financial outlay for a 29-year-old who has had his injury problems may not appeal to Inter's board.
The World Cup winner has been restricted to 24 starts and two substitute outings in all competitions this season.
