Coventry City confirm return to Ricoh Arena on two-year deal

Coventry City confirm that they will return to the Ricoh Arena after agreeing a two-year deal.

Coventry City have confirmed that they will return to the Ricoh Arena in September after reaching an agreement with stadium operators ACL.

The local press revealed earlier today that the League One outfit had agreed a deal after spending more than a year playing 35 miles away in Northampton.

A statement from Coventry confirmed that they have sealed a two-year deal with an option for an extra two years following a long-running dispute, which resulted in the club withholding rent from the stadium operators.

Coventry development director Steve Waggott said: "We are delighted to get this deal done and I am sure every supporter of Coventry City will be thrilled with this news.

"We are under no illusion what a difficult 12 months it has been for the supporters and that was uppermost in our thinking as we worked to get this deal done. There has had to be compromise on both sides and the commercial details of the deal will remain confidential."

The Sky Blues will return to the Ricoh for their match against Gillingham on September 6.
