Dundee United produce late fightback to win

Dundee United fight back from two goals down to beat St Mirren 3-2 at Tannadice.

Dundee United fought back from two goals down to win 3-2 against St Mirren at Tannadice this afternoon.

Paul McGowan gave the visitors the lead after 22 minutes when he headed home Marc McAusland's cross.

Steven Thompson came close to making it 2-0 via the same route, but his header went just wide after 35 minutes.

However, Thompson made no mistake when his next chance arrived five minutes later as he converted from close range following a corner.

Brian Graham reduced the deficit with 11 minutes remaining when he netted from close range after good work from Ryan Dow, who crossed for his teammate.

Paul Gallacher made a smart save late to prevent Stephen O'Donnell putting through his own net as the home side pushed for an equaliser.

However, the stopper was powerless to stop Stuart Armstrong who netted with six minutes remaining to level things up, and Nadir Ciftci added a dramatic winner in stoppage time.
