Lukas Podolski: 'Germany have tough draw'

Germany forward Lukas Podolski admits that his side will have to work hard if they are to progress from their group at the World Cup.

Germany forward Lukas Podolski has admitted that his side will have their work cut out if they are to progress from their group at the World Cup.

Joachim Low's side have been draw in Group G alongside Portugal, Ghana and the USA.

Arsenal striker Podolski believes that Germany can go on to win the World Cup if they get out of their group first.

"I think it's a tough draw because Portugal have Cristiano Ronaldo and other players who can create a lot of chances to score," he told Arsenal's official website.

"United States have a German coach [Jurgen Klinsmann] so it's a special game for him. And with Ghana, African teams always fight and keep giving 110%.

"It's not easy but I think we have a strong team and we want to get out of this group and play a good World Cup. We want to fight for the title."

Germany begin their campaign against Portugal on June 16.
