Leeds United are reportedly 'confident' that defender Luke Ayling will agree to sign a contract extension with the club.

The 30-year-old scored a dramatic 91st-minute winner to help the Whites come from two goals down to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-2 at Molineux on Friday night.

Ayling has less than 18 months remaining on his contract at Elland Road and his long-term future with the club remains uncertain.

However, Football Insider reports that Leeds are 'confident' that the versatile defender will put pen to paper on a new contract, extending his current deal by at least a year.

Ayling has become a key player for the West Yorkshire outfit since arriving from Bristol City back in 2016, and has made a total of 215 appearances for the club across all competitions.

The Arsenal academy graduate has made 24 appearances for Leeds in all tournaments this season, playing 12 games each at centre-back and right-back.
