Leicester City midfielder Andy King has admitted that there is "good competition" for places at the club ahead of the new Premier League season.
The Foxes finish their pre-season campaign on Saturday when they make the trip to Championship outfit Birmingham City.
With time running out to impress new manager Claudio Ranieri, King is hopeful that he can put himself in contention for their Premier League opener against Sunderland on August 8.
"I'm confident," he told the club's official website. "It is just about playing your game, listening to what the manager wants and trying to put that on to the pitch. We have still got good competition for places out there. It is up to us to do enough in pre-season to get the nod."
King scored two goals in 26 appearances for Leicester last season.
