Pepe Reina believes that other international teams cannot compete with Spain due to the quality of their players.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina believes that other international teams cannot compete with Spain due to the quality of their players.

Spain are the current European and world champions, and Reina says that the team are enjoying a golden generation.

"We have found a great generation of players the same age," Reina said.

"It is not always possible to play our way. It depends on the player and the team and depends on the philosophy you have.

"But not everyone can play as we do because no-one has the quality of players we have."

Reina has been named in the squad to face England at Wembley on Saturday, but faces a battle for selection as he is second choice behind Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas.

"Any time you go with the national team you want to win, and every time you play England it is a special game," Reina added.

"The international team has 23 important players but only 11 can start. So we have to take that chance when it comes along if you are lucky enough to be there.

"In my case it has been an absolute pleasure. We are the champions of Europe and the world."

Reina has made 23 appearances for his country since 2005.
