Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is considering signing a goalkeeper to challenge under-fire Pepe Reina, according to reports.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will reportedly give goalkeeper Pepe Reina until January to prove that he deserves a first-team place.

Reina's start to the season has been under some scrutiny after a couple of notable errors against Hearts and Arsenal.

Rodgers wants greater competition for places and will look to sign another keeper if Reina's form does not improve, according to The Mirror.

The 30-year-old has been at Anfield since 2005 after joining from Villareal for £6m.
