Liverpool 'unlikely to make signings this month'

Liverpool will reportedly not be making any signings before the close of the transfer window this month.

Liverpool will reportedly not bring any new players into the club this month.

The Merseyside outfit have been linked with numerous targets, one of which was Basel winger Mohamed Salah.

However, rivals Chelsea have scuppered the Reds' move by announcing today that they have agreed a deal for the Egyptian international to move to Stamford Bridge.

According to PA, Liverpool are unlikely to sign any new faces before the close of the transfer window next Friday.

The Premier League outfit are currently littered with injuries in defence, with Jon Flanagan, Jose Enrique, Daniel Agger and Mohamed Sakho all carrying problems over the last few weeks.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has also revealed that full-back Glen Johnson will be out for an 'indefinite amount of time' due to a series of injuries taking its toll.
