Wednesday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:
Manchester United 'line up Barcelona raid for four players'
Manchester United are reportedly hoping to take full advantage of Barcelona's expected summer overhaul and have identified four players they would be interested in signing from the Catalan giants.
Barcelona's 8-2 Champions League quarter-final defeat to Bayern Munich last week has sparked huge speculation regarding a number of roles at the club from president Josep Maria Bartomeu to captain and talisman Lionel Messi.
Manager Quique Setien has already been sacked after only 25 games in charge, and rumoured replacement Ronald Koeman is set to embark on a summer clearout with Barcelona also needing to trim their wage bill.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claims that United could be one of the main beneficiaries of the firesale and are interested in Ousmane Dembele, Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti.
The report goes on to add that United have already enquired about Umtiti and Dembele, the latter of whom they are considering as a possible alternative to number one target Jadon Sancho.
The quartet are all thought to be available for transfer this summer and would fit Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's desire to bring in a new central defender, midfielder and winger.
Manchester United consider David Brooks as Jadon Sancho alternative?
Manchester United are reportedly contemplating an approach for Bournemouth winger David Brooks.
While United are interested in securing a deal for Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho, the two clubs remain far apart during negotiations over a fee.
That has led to speculation regarding potential alternatives, with the Premier League giants being linked with Ousmane Dembele and Douglas Costa of Barcelona and Juventus respectively.
However, according to Manchester Evening News, United view Wales international Brooks as a more realistic addition.
While injury restricted the 23-year-old to nine appearances last season, the playmaker remains highly-regarded by a number of top-flight outfits.
After their relegation to the Championship, the Cherries will likely consider selling arguably their key man for the right price.
