Jurgen Klopp "not interested" in Jose Mourinho remarks

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp brushes aside Jose Mourinho's claims that his side could struggle in the Premier League next season if they qualify for the Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp has insisted that he is "not interested in what Jose Mourinho says" after the Manchester United boss claimed that Liverpool will find next season tough going.

The Portuguese made his comments last week during the Red Devils' pre-season tour of the United States, suggesting that the Reds - as well as reigning champions Chelsea - will lose the advantage enjoyed last season due to the demands of European football.

Klopp stopped short of disagreeing with Mourinho's comments, but he was not willing to be drawn into a war of words with his opposite number ahead of the new campaign.

"I'm not interested in what Jose Mourinho says," he told reporters. "Why should I talk about Manchester United? Jose is talking about us, yes. We had a season of what Man United had the year before. I don't know if anybody asked us how it felt then.

"The Europa League was hard. Yes, Chelsea will feel also the difference, they played something like 13 players last season. But it's also not my problem if they use only 11, well done. I do not want to be part of this – I am not interested."

Liverpool have a qualifier to come through before booking their place in the Champions League proper, with the draw to take place on August 4.
