Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that he once had the opportunity to sign for Liverpool.
After moving to United in 1996, Solskjaer went on to have a legendary career at Old Trafford, scoring 128 goals in all competitions.
However, the Norwegian has said that Liverpool also held an interest in acquiring his services ahead of his departure from Molde.
Speaking to the club's official website, Solskjaer said: "Were Liverpool and Bayern Munich in for me? Yes, and Cagliari, PSV [Eindhoven] and a couple of other teams.
"But I wouldn't change the history. There was only one choice. It was fantastic when the call came."
Solskjaer has been in charge of United since December 2018, when he was initially brought in as a temporary replacement for Jose Mourinho.
