Jurgen Klopp: 'Henrikh Mkhitaryan sale will not affect Borussia Dortmund'

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insists that he is "not worried" by former club Borussia Dortmund's current predicament, with a number of key faces opting to leave.

Jurgen Klopp has backed former club Borussia Dortmund to quickly recover from losing a number of their key players this summer, including Manchester United-bound midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Armenia international is expected to be unveiled as a United player next week after an agreement was reached between the two clubs.

Mkhitaryan's departure comes hot on the heels of Ilkay Gundogan and Mats Hummels also leaving the Westfalenstadion, with the key duo joining Manchester City and Bayern Munich respectively.

Despite the loss of a trio of star names, Liverpool boss Klopp is confident that Dortmund - a team he spent seven years in charge of - will not be affected in the long term.

"Dortmund have managed to sign almost all of Europe's biggest talents this transfer period," he told Bild. "I am not worried about Borussia Dortmund at all. When I joined BVB, we were in a similar situation.

"If there's one club that can cope with the departure of three key players, it's got to be Borussia Dortmund and coach Thomas Tuchel."

Klopp signed Mkhitaryan from Shakhtar Donetsk in a £23.6m deal in 2013.
