Manchester City's Bernardo Silva and RB Leipzig's Dani Olmo - both targets for Barcelona - have affordable release clauses in their new contracts, according to a report.

Manchester City's Bernardo Silva and RB Leipzig's Dani Olmo reportedly both included affordable release clauses in the new contracts that they recently signed with their respective clubs.

Bernardo penned a contract extension with Man City at the end of August, with the Portugal international's deal at the Etihad Stadium due to run until June 2026.

Olmo, meanwhile, signed a new deal at Leipzig at the start of June, with the Spain's terms now running until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.

Both players were linked with moves to Barcelona over the summer, but the Catalan outfit were unable to sign either player due to their financial problems.

Xavi's side instead brought in Joao Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid on transfer deadline day, but there is no obligation to purchase the Portuguese next summer.

Barcelona are believed to be still be keen on both Bernardo and Olmo, and according to Mundo Deportivo, there are affordable release clauses in both contracts.

The report claims that Bernardo could leave Manchester for €58.5m (£50.3m) next summer, while Olmo's release clause has been set at €60m (£51.6m).

Barcelona are expecting to be in a position to make at least one big-money signing during next summer's transfer window, although the club will have to continue to sell to add to their squad.

Bernardo has again been an important player for Man City early this season, featuring on four occasions in all competitions, including three appearances in the Premier League.

Olmo, meanwhile, has managed five goals and one assist in four appearances for Leipzig.

The 25-year-old could now be facing a spell on the sidelines, though, due to the injury that he suffered while representing Spain against Georgia last week.

Manchester United are also believed to be long-term admirers of the versatile forward, who has scored 26 goals and registered 30 assists in 127 appearances for Leipzig in all competitions.

Barcelona have made a strong start to their La Liga title defence, picking up 10 points from their opening four matches, which has left them in third position in the table.

Xavi's side will now be aiming to continue their unbeaten start when they welcome Real Betis on Saturday before hosting Royal Antwerp in their Champions League opener next week.
