Loic Remy wants Champions League football

Loic Remy suggests that his Newcastle United future hinges on whether the club can qualify for the Champions League.

Loic Remy has hinted that he would leave Newcastle United in the summer if they fail to secure Champions League football.

The French international joined the Magpies in August on a season-long loan deal from Queens Park Rangers.

Manager Alan Pardew recently admitted that he was confident of securing the 26-year-old's services on a permanent basis, but the striker has conceded that his decision could be swayed by whether Newcastle are playing in Europe's elite competition.

"I miss the Champions League. It is a very special competition. Next season I can play the Champions League again," the Evening Chronicle quotes Remy as saying. "We will see what happens, if I stay here or if we play in the Champions League."

Remy has scored 10 goals so far this season.
