Half-Time Report: Rochdale edge ahead in first half

Ian Henderson hands Rochdale a 1-0 lead over Northampton Town at the midway point in their League Two meeting.

Ian Henderson has earned Rochdale a 1-0 lead over Northampton Town at the halfway stage of their League Two clash.

Rochdale made the perfect start to the match as they took the lead in just the fifth minute through Henderson, who wrestled off attention from his marker to fire home Joe Rafferty's long ball home.

Northampton struggled to sustain much pressure in the first half but they weren't far away from drawing level when Alan Connell drilled an effort over the crossbar from the edge of the box.

Matt Done threatened to double his side's lead in the 30th minute as he weaved into the box to force Matt Duke into a save at the near post and Rochdale were forced to settle for a one-goal advantage.
