Alex Neil satisfied by Norwich City victory

Norwich City boss Alex Neil praises his players for withstanding a late fightback to earn a 3-2 win over Cardiff in the Championship.

Norwich City boss Alex Neil has praised his side for holding on to beat Cardiff City 3-2 in the Championship.

The Canaries moved into a 3-0 half-time lead at Carrow Road before they survived a late fightback from the visitors to seal the win.

While he admits that his players lost focus during the final 30 minutes, Neil is happy that they were able to come away from the match with the spoils.

"I thought we were excellent for 60 minutes and the bottom line is that we have come away with the three points, so I am happy with that," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"In the first half we were always a threat going forward, we were strong in midfield and also defended well. I couldn't have asked for more. We also started the second half well but then they scored their goals and the game changed.

"I don't remember them having too many chances after that, while we had four or five breakaways which we should have made more of - but the overriding emotion at the end was one of relief because we really shouldn't have been in that position."

Norwich remain in seventh place in the Championship table, one point adrift off the playoff positions.
