Shaun Derry says that he may leave QPR in order to play first-team football.

Queens Park Rangers defender Shaun Derry has admitted that he could leave the club on loan in order to play regular football.

The 34-year-old hasn't started a single game this season after falling down the pecking order under Mark Hughes, despite making 28 Premier League appearances last year.

The signing of Esteban Granero from Real Madrid in the summer and the return of Alejandro Faurlin from injury means that football has been limited for Derry who conceded that he may have to leave Loftus Road in order to play.

He told QPR podcast Open All Rs: "I need to be playing football and will try to play at some place."

QPR were knocked out of the Capital One Cup last night after losing 3-2 to Reading at home.
