Gerard Pique reveals importance of El Clasico

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique refuses to play down the importance of Saturday's clash with Real Madrid.

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has admitted that Saturday's clash with Real Madrid "can mark a turning point in the season".

The Catalan outfit enter the match top of La Liga, but three points for Madrid at the Camp Nou would move Carlo Ancelotti's side level with their rivals.

"The Clasico is a different kind of match and even more so this year because the title has been between the two teams over the last couple of seasons," Pique told reporters.

"It can mark a turning point in the season. If we win, we'll be six points clear."

Meanwhile, ahead of El Clasico, Pique has been selected in Sports Mole's combined XI from the two sides.
