Malky Mackay seeks Vincent Tan talks

Malky Mackay says that he needs to discuss certain things with Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan, who threatened to sack him last week.

Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has revealed that "there are certain areas that have to be addressed" between him and the club's owner Vincent Tan.

Mackay was told last week by Tan via an email that he should resign or face being sacked following a disagreement over transfer funds ahead of the January window.

The Scot opted to stay put and his stance was followed yesterday by a statement from chairman Mehmet Dalman, who said that Mackay would remain in charge for the time being.

However, despite Dalman's reassurance, Mackay has insisted that he still has things to discuss with Tan.

"I don't know if we can talk," he told reporters. "Mehmet has been trying to do this for three months, as have I.

"There are certain areas that have to be addressed that were in the email. I will find out when I go to the meeting. At that point I will take stock of where I am."

Mackay also revealed that he has had two recent requests for a meeting rejected by Tan.
