Team News: Multiple changes for Southampton, Inter Milan

Southampton and Inter Milan make five and six changes respectively ahead of their Europa League Group K tie at St Mary's.

Southampton and Inter Milan have made five and six changes respectively ahead of their Europa League Group K tie at St Mary's.

Maya Yoshida and Sam McQueen replace Jose Fonte and Ryan Bertrand in defence, with Virgil van Dijk captaining the side in Fonte's absence.

There are also starts for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and James Ward-Prowse in midfield, while Jay Rodriguez replaces Charlie Austin to lead the Saints attack.

The Nerazzurri, meanwhile, have caretaker boss Stefano Vecchi in charge following Frank de Boer's dismissal earlier this week.

In their starting XI, Miranda is the only defender to retain his spot from the side that lost at Sampdoria last week as Danilo D'Ambrosio, Andre Ranocchia, and Yuto Nagatomo are handed starts.

Former Cardiff City man Gary Medel is drafted into midfield alongside Croatia international Ivan Perisic, while Assane Demoya Gnoukouri replaces the suspended Marcelo Brozovic.

Southampton: Forster, Martina, Van Dijk, Yoshida, McQueen, Hojbjerg, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Redmond, Tadic, Rodriguez
Subs: Lewis, Clasie, Fonte, Davis, Austin, Boufal, Bertrand

Inter Milan: Handanovic, D'Ambrosio, Miranda, Ranocchia, Nagatomo, Candreva, Medel, Gnoukouri, Perisic, Banega, Icardi
Subs: Carrizo, Melo, Biabiany, Ansaldi, Santon, Eder, Murillo
