Report: Emmanuel Mayuka on the verge of Southampton exit

A report suggests that Emmanuel Mayuka is close to leaving Southampton to join Russian club Spartak Moscow after three unsuccessful seasons at St Mary's Stadium.

Southampton forward Emmanuel Mayuka is close to sealing a switch to Spartak Moscow, according to a report.

The 24-year-old joined the Saints in 2012 in a £3m move from Young Boys, but has failed to make an impact in his three years with the club.

Mayuka was left out of the Saints' pre-season tour of the Netherlands and was also not given a squad number for the new campaign as he has been told that he is not in the plans of manager Ronald Koeman.

As a result, the Zambia international is on the verge of securing a switch to Russia with Spartak Moscow, although no fee has been agreed with the Saints, reports The Mirror.

The forward has made 16 appearances in the Premier League for Southampton, but has failed to find the net.
