Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Southampton

Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham Hotspur's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Southampton.

Antonio Conte's first full season at Tottenham Hotspur kicks off with Saturday's Premier League opener against Southampton in North London.

The Lilywhites saw off the threat of Arsenal to clinch Champions League football last year, finishing fourth on the final day with a 5-0 thrashing of relegated Norwich City.

Conte has overseen victories over Team K-League and Rangers in pre-season, and Spurs also drew with Sevilla before suffering a 1-0 loss to Roma in the I-Tech Cup.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with the Saints.

Yves Bissouma

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: August 6 (vs. Southampton)

Yves Bissouma - who signed from Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this summer - reportedly picked up a small hamstring strain against Roma and will need assessing ahead of Saturday's game.

Oliver Skipp

Status: Out
Type of injury: Heel
Possible return date: Unknown

Oliver Skipp was being put through his paces in training after recovering from groin surgery but has now suffered a sickening foot laceration, which supposedly forced some of his teammates to turn away, and he is now reportedly set for at least two weeks on the sidelines after also sustaining a hairline fracture in his heel in the same incident.

Japhet Tanganga

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: August 6 (vs. Southampton)

Japhet Tanganga would be expected to recover from illness in time for the Premier League opener, but his participation is up in the air either way amid continued links with a transfer to AC Milan.

TOTTENHAM'S SUSPENSION LIST

Richarlison

Return date: August 14 (vs. Chelsea)

Richarlison was handed a one-game ban by the FA for picking up a flare and throwing it back into the crowd during Everton's win over Chelsea last term and will therefore play no part in Saturday's game.
