Jan Vertonghen keen to make amends in Crystal Palace clash

Tottenham Hotspur's Jan Vertonghen is keen to make amends for his side's recent defensive displays when they entertain Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur's Jan Vertonghen cannot wait for their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace this weekend, as Spurs look to tighten up their defensive record.

The North London side went down 3-0 to rivals Chelsea in the week, with the Belgian international partly at fault for the final goal.

"I think defensively we should have done a lot better on all three goals. If you see the Kevin Mirallas last goal against us [for Everton last Sunday], that was just a very good goal," Vertonghen told Sky Sports News.

"And Chelsea's first goal was too, but after that we just did not defend very well and we gave them the opportunity to score.

"I do not feel good at all at the moment now, I am happy that there is a game again on Saturday, so we can try to forget."

Mauricio Pochettino's men entertain Palace at White Hart Lane this afternoon.
