Marko Arnautovic: 'Nobody knows if I will sign new deal at Stoke City'

Stoke City forward Marko Arnautovic says that "nobody knows" whether or not he will sign a new contract at the club.

Marko Arnautovic has failed to pledge his future to Stoke City but has thanked the club for giving him a lifeline when he signed in 2013.

The Austrian has become an integral part of the Potters team after joining from Werder Bremen, where he struggled for first-team action.

The forward's contract has one year left until it expires and manager Mark Hughes has reiterated that he is relaxed about talks over fresh terms.

However, Arnautovic has distanced himself from the speculation by claiming that he is solely focused on finishing the season.

"The thing is, Stoke City pulled me out of a situation where I was not playing, where I was not happy, and that was in Germany," Arnautovic told sport1.de. "They have breathed new life into me.

"I've been here for three years and always performed well and I have told them to speak to my manager, who is my brother, and not with me [about a contract]. I want to focus on the season. What happens then, nobody knows. Nobody knows if I will sign a new contract."

Arnautovic is Stoke's top scorer this season with 11 goals.
