Thomas Sorensen not keen on Championship switch

Thomas Sorensen claims that he does not want to join a Championship club when his contract at Stoke City expires at the end of next season.

Thomas Sorensen has claimed that he is not prepared to join a Championship club when his contract at Stoke City expires at the end of next season.

The Danish shotstopper, 37, is expected to leave the Potters when his current terms at the Britannia Stadium run out in summer 2015.

"I have set some requirements for next season," Sorensen told Tipsbladet.

"It should be something where I can see some opportunities and challenges, because I feel I have played enough matches in my career. Therefore, I will not join a Championship club just to get to play more matches."

Sorensen arrived at Stoke from Aston Villa in 2008.
