West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian has said that he "cannot be happy" with Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Manchester City, but the Spaniard has taken some positives from the clash at the Etihad Stadium.

The Hammers went ahead in the latter stages of the first half courtesy of a header from Angelo Ogbonna, but City scored twice in the second period through Nicolas Otamendi and David Silva.

In addition to commenting on the City match, Adrian spoke about his own future, with the 30-year-old making his first Premier League appearance of the season due to Joe Hart being unavailable to face his parent club.

"At the end of the day it is a defeat, we don't get any points, so I cannot be happy, zero. But we troubled them, we defended well and played well on the counter-attack, we had great chances to go 2-2 at the end but they are top players," Adrian told Sky Sports News.

"Personally, this is my fifth season at West Ham. I do my best every time I play. I hope I have more chances to play from now. The competition is great, so for the manager the next game we don't know."

West Ham remain 19th in the Premier League table after losing nine of their 15 matches thus far.
