Wolverhampton Wanderers chairman Steve Morgan reveals that he would welcome an application from Alan Curbishley to become the club's new manager.

Wolverhampton Wanderers chairman Steve Morgan has admitted that Alan Curbishley is a contender to become the club's new manager.

The former West Ham United and Charlton Athletic boss made his interest in the vacancy known earlier today.

While admitting that there are a number of candidates for the job, Morgan has conceded that Curbishley has the necessary experience that the club's board are looking for.

"He's got a great track record and he's been there and done that before," Morgan told Sky Sports News. "He's exactly the calibre of person we'd be looking at.

"There are a number of other candidates but clearly we'd be interested in someone of his calibre."

Curbishley has been out of work since leaving the Hammers in 2008.
