Kenny Jackett: 'Shola Ameobi will train with Wolverhampton Wanderers'

Kenny Jackett confirms that Shola Ameobi will train with Wolverhampton Wanderers, who held Brighton & Hove Albion to a goalless draw.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett has revealed that the club are interested in signing ex-Newcastle United forward Shola Ameobi.

The West Midlands outfit managed to hold Championship leaders Brighton & Hove Albion to a goalless draw at Molineux, despite having Conor Coady sent off early in the second half.

Jackett was quick to praise Wolves's effort against the Seagulls and confirmed that Ameobi will train with the club in the coming weeks, but said that a deal for the forward is far from complete.

He is quoted by the club's official Twitter feed as saying: "The players were fantastic. They were organised and considered and it is a very good point in the circumstances. Brighton are a good team.

"He is going to train with us but it is early in the process."

Nouha Dicko's season-ending injury has left Wolves with two fit strikers, with 17-year-old Bright Enobakhare featuring on the bench for Jackett's side.
