Bradford Bulls forward Bryn Hargreaves has said that he and his teammates are being kept in the dark over their futures at the club.
Administrator Brendan Guilfoyle, who sacked 16 members of non-playing staff on Monday, had promised the players an update on their situation by Tuesday morning. However, the planned meeting was then cancelled without their knowledge.
"We've been kept in the dark. We just deal with what's put in front of us, which is not very much at the minute," said Hargreaves. "Even if it's bad news you can deal with it because that's the reality of it but, when it's all up in the air, it's a horrible feeling.
"We've had some players this morning feeling sick and really nervy. It's their future, their livelihood, and they've got bills to pay. We're not footballers, we don't have money tucked away. You go home and sit and worry and hope for the best.
"That's all you can do. We've just had some information from the RFL about phoning our banks to tell them we might not be paying some bills. It's pretty stark but that's the bleak reality."
Bradford are due to host London Broncos on Sunday.
