St Helens have moved top of the Super League after thrashing Salford Red Devils 38-0 at the AJ Bell Stadium tonight.
Jon Wilkin got the rout underway early in the encounter, touching down on six minutes before Luke Walsh kicked the conversion to open up a 6-0 lead.
Walsh, who successfully converted all of his team's six tries, crossed the try line himself shortly after to establish a 12-point cushion early on.
Brian Noble's men managed to weather the storm and remain two tries adrift of the rampant Saints for the duration of the half.
However, Nathan Brown's troops started the second half in similar fashion as they had began the first, with Mark Percival and Kyle Amor touching down within 15 minutes of the restart for a 24-0 lead.
Anthony Laffranchi added a fifth on 73 minutes before Percival touched down again at the death to seal a comfortable win for the new league leaders.
